Circuito Sesc de Artes
SÃO PAULO / BRASIL
An identity that has to work in 123 cities at once.
Circuito Sesc de Artes is a touring cultural programme run by Sesc São Paulo, a non-profit institution funded by the commerce and services sector that operates a network of cultural centres across the state. The circuit travels to 123 cities in the state of São Paulo, bringing together more than 400 artists in more than 700 free events. The programme covers visual arts and technology, cinema, circus, dance, literature, music and theatre. We created the art direction and the visual identity system for the project.
A beautiful piece would not have been enough. The system had to work in the hands of dozens of local producers, from institutional material to signage in a town square, keeping the same recognisable brand across very different cities and contexts.
Circuito Sesc does not happen in a place, it happens along a route, city after city. The identity took that shape: a graphic circuit punctuated by the magical moments each city receives, from circus to cinema, from music to literature.
123 cities, more than 400 artists, more than 700 free events. A visual identity system that crossed an entire state without losing its unity.
